The Intersectionality of People & Communications

The intersectionality of People & Comms is often overlooked.

As a People executive, it’s my job to ensure the brand’s mission, vision, and goals translate to and are fully-realized by the employees every day.

As a Comms executive, it’s my job to ensure the employees, who embody the brand’s mission, vision, and goals every day through their work, help inform the brand’s efforts of increasing awareness, perception, and reputation.

They are two sides of the same coin.

A company’s internal & external efforts (including mission, vision, and goals) need to be both brand-driven and people-driven. There is power and innovation behind this collaborative approach.

I have often felt like a unicorn — a person with mix of brand & people experience and interest. But, the more research I do, the more I see other unicorns out there like me.

I hope to be at the forefront of this fusion, and I am excited to see where this innovative approach to both function goes!
