I came out a decade ago. I’ll never forget the coming out tour I took, telling each person in my life. The fear I felt that they would reject me. The relief I felt when they didn’t.

Many of you know I lost my queer brother to suicide. I can’t help but think of him today, especially following Mental Health Awareness Week last week.

I won’t stop fighting for queer lives until we are able to live them fully. I won’t stop fighting for queer lives until trans folx aren’t murdered for existing. I won’t stop fighting for queer lives until coming out is no longer necessary.
